At Barkisland we offer a tasty, well balanced and healthy meal selection

Our school cook, Mrs Roberts, works extremely hard to create an exciting array of meals to suit everyone!

School lunches include locally sourced ingredients and seasonal fruit & vegetables.

The children choose their menu options every fortnight for their daily meal. This may be; a hot meal, soup, jacket potato, sandwich or wrap served with a variety of accompaniments.

Free School Meals

Free School Meals are available for school children of parents or guardians who receive one of the following:

Income Support, Job Seeker's Allowance (income based)., Child Tax Credit, and have an annual income of less than £16,190 (as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs)., Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit., Support payments under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.   

If you are receiving Working Tax Credit, your child/children are not entitled to free school meals.

Application forms can be downloaded by clicking the link below or obtained via the school office.

Free school meal information is held totally confidentially in school, children are unaware of this issue.
